Wentworth Freestyle
Wentworth Freestyle is a Freestyle Canada–sanctioned program, operated by Ski Wentworth as a separate club. The program focuses on athlete and coach development, safety, fun, and progression for all levels—from recreational to competitive.
Athletes are grouped based on age and ability to ensure the best learning environment.

FUNdamentalz Program
The FUNdamentalz Program introduces young skiers to the fundamentals of freestyle skiing in a fun and supportive environment.
Prerequisites
• Must be able to load and unload the chairlift unassisted
• Must be comfortable skiing blue runs with a wide parallel stance
We offer two half-day sessions to choose from.

• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• $325 + HST (Freestyle NS membership required)
Sunday Session
• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• $325 + HST (Freestyle NS membership required)

• Sessions run in all weather conditions, provided the ski area is open

The Development Program is designed for skiers who have progressed beyond the Black Diamond level in the FUNdamentalz program. It provides a clear pathway for athletes looking to build on their foundational skills and take the next step in freestyle skiing.
This program focuses on developing skills in freeskiing (glades and steeps), slopestyle, moguls, and big air.
Program Highlights
• Progression in freestyle and freeski disciplines
• Focus on building a strong technical foundation
• Optional participation in freestyle and freeski competitions
• Preparation for future competitive pathways
Airbag and trampoline training are available at an additional cost, offering further opportunities for skill development.

Competitive Development Program
The Competitive Development Program is the next step for skiers who have built a strong foundation in the Development Program and are ready to transition into a competitive environment.
Designed for athletes competing at the provincial level and beyond, this program focuses on advancing skills in freeskiing, slopestyle, moguls, and big air—while applying those skills in competition settings.

• Advanced development across freestyle disciplines
• Focus on competition readiness and performance
• Bridge between Development Program and High-Performance team
• Opportunities to compete at provincial and higher levels

FC Competition Development Half Pipe Coach
One of Canada’s most highly certified coaches, and coach developer. Coach Thor has been involved in freestyle skiing at Ski Wentworth for over 20 years as both an athlete and a coach. Under his coaching leadership, Ski Wentworth athletes have achieved Canadian Junior and Senior titles. Thor was the head coach of the 2011, 2015, 2019, and Nova Scotia Canada Games teams and currently works with high-performance athletes.

FC Development coach
Cam Anderson worked his way through the Wentworth Freestyle program first as an athlete and now as an up-and-coming coach. Coach Cam works with the Development athletes on the trampoline, airbags, and on snow, and is often referred to as the nicest coach ever!

Jessica is a Development coach and has been involved in freestyle skiing since joining the Wentworth Freestyle program as a young athlete. Jess has many years of experience traveling across Canada to training camps, and events, and has competed for Team Nova Scotia in the Canada Winter Games. Jessica has taken her passion for freestyle and directed it toward coaching and helping young athletes progress. Jessica is an excellent role model, especially to the young up-and-coming females in our sport
