Wentworth to host Freestyle FIS Canada Cup event
Ski Wentworth, along with Freestyle Nova Scotia and Wentworth Freestyle, will be hosting the 2026 FIS Canada Cup, from February 12-15. Wentworth will welcome some of the nation’s top freestyle skiing talent competing in three events for this national event, a first for Atlantic Canada. This is part of the Canada Cup Toyo Tires series.
“This is the first FIS (International Ski & Snowboard Federation) event held at Wentworth. The Wentworth FIS Canada Cup will attract athletes from across the country and abroad who are trying to earn FIS points to compete at an international and Olympic level,” said Wentworth Freestyle head coach Thor Durning. “Over the past 15 years, the sport of freestyle skiing in Nova Scotia has continued to grow and mature. From athlete, coach and official development to mountain operations, grooming and the Legacy Terrain Park site itself. Wentworth has proven we have what it takes to host a national level event.”
After two days of training on Feb. 10 & 11, competition gets underway Thursday, Feb. 12 with a rail event. Slopestyle qualifiers run Friday, Feb. 13 with slopestyle finals on Saturday, Feb. 14 and finishing out the week with Big Air on Sunday February 15.
